Heather I would go to a rheumatologist I've found they are more knowledgeable than a regular md
I believe we put on weight because we are not as active as we were before the Fibro pain. I don't believe it's because of eating different. In fact - there are times I don't feel right because of the pain and go to bed under the warm covers. That's the answer. Not as active because of the pain.
I am on Pregablin which has made me put on weight and hot sweats......I have finished the menopause so the hot sweats are not related. I recently asked my doctor to wean me off as I cannot stand these symptoms. She told me that the body can get used to Pregablin and after a time it doesn't seem to give any relief. I have halved my intake so far, but the pain has been awful. I am due to see the doctor again in a January.
I would find a new dr. There are a lot of meds that do help. Reading a lot of post here you will realize that.
I'm not on gabepentin or pregablin. My Drs states there is no evidence that anything helps other than amitriptyline!! So that's the sort of support I get there.
