This may be useful..get checked anyway Oct 6, 2016 - A condition called costochondritis, which causes pain around the breast bone and rib cage, is believed to be common in people with fibromyalgia (FMS). ... A lot of people don't realize this pain could be caused by a separate condition causing that requires its own treatment.

Oh I feel for you @A MyFibroTeam Member ! I had ovarian cysts that would rupture and I would hemorrhage internally and they did the laparoscopic surgery. They try to get all the air back out but they can't get it all. Mine pocketed above my right breast and into my shoulder. I used a heating pad for some time and it finally was absorbed. So painful, I'm praying for you.

Look up costochondritis, I've had it and yes it's very painful. It's basically inflammation of the cartilage.

When drs performed the surgery they fill the internal cavity with air. It stretches everything out, making it easier for them to get to while operating. Unfortunately, it is painful to people that are already hyper-sensitive to pain. People with fibromyalgia heal much more slowly than regular people, because we are hypersensitive to many such stimuli. Best wishes and gentle hugs are wished your way.
