I've had several, the prep is the WORST part. I had a hard time drinking the stuff because it's really gross, but I never got cramps from it.....but stay close to the toilet and never trust a fart 💨😉. This is really TMI but it needs to be said to help you. After you drink the stuff and before your first BM put Vaseline around your bum hole (put some Vaseline on toilet paper and wipe the area) and do it after every BM. If you don't your bum will get raw and it feels like you are shooting out battery acid. I know....TMI .....but you will be glad I told you this tip.

Hi there..i have Crohns and IBS for 10 years now. The pain can be from being lactose intollerant. Perhaps go gluten free and lactose free. The colonscopy is not painful..just the preparation..then they will give you iV and knock you out..i assume it takes 15 mins for the procedure. wish you the best of luck..in the meantime try to go gluten free and lactose free..soy milk/rice milk/almond milk is so deliz..take care and keep us posted..ciao ciao Pat

I don't know why but just about every one I know that has fibro has some kind of GI problem. I've had IBS for over 20 yrs. Just an observation.

I have them all the time because colon cancer is in my family. The prep is the worst thing. You feel very out of it when they do the procedure. Its fine, though. I would do it, just know the prep is the worst thing.

I have had several due to my acute Ulcerative Colitis. My next one is next Monday. Different GI's require different preps. Mine is a complete bottle of Miramax (238gms) 4 Dulcolax then a citrate drink the morning of. If you have to drink the other I suggest lemon flavor chilled. Start earlier than they tell you. If you start at 2pm you won't be able to go to sleep until midnight. The prep is hardest- the rest is easy. I recommend eating a light breakfast the morning before early. Like around 7am. Start the prep around 10:00am. Also take a multivitamin with breakfast. Make sure you have jello prepared. I found it easiest to dissolve the laxative in Arizona Ice Tea w ginseng and honey. If you are dorinking the prepared solution make sure you have something clear that tastes good as a chaser. Make sure to drink a lot of water! I sincerely hope you do not have Chrone's Disease. I have to get infusions of remicade every 8 weeks at the Cancer center as my medication quit working after 25 years. That is a 2 1/2 hour drip. I wish you the best of luck.
