I had one done a few months ago. I rested that day when I got home and was fine the next day.

I used to work in an Endoscopy center and I would recommend this procedure if your Dr is wanting you to have one. It is not painful, nor will you know the procedure has been done after you wake up. And yes, the hardest part is the prep you have to ingest prior to the procedure. Make sure the bathroom is close by.

I have just had my second colonoscopy and they found something that was unusual. First, no trace of cancer, praise GOD. i do have diverticulitis in the final third of my bowel, but that is manageable. What has m a little bit scared is the third dx. They found an area of irritation about 2 centimeters across in the bend on the right side of my body. They say this is an unusual place to have this. They need to go back in and take a lot of biopsies, and possibly remove the area. I am scheduled to have this done Sept 20, which is one week after my surgery for my left eye cataract.

I had one done. It was uncomfortable in terms of the procedure, but there were no after effects of pain or irritation after that first day.
