Members shared mixed experiences with yoga for managing their condition, with many finding it helpful for deep muscle aches and overall movement when they have the energy, though several noted significant barriers including wrist and hand pain that makes weight-bearing poses difficult, fatigue that prevents completing full classes, and financial constraints that limit access to classes or pools. Several members offered practical solutions, including chair yoga for those who cannot stand long, the Down Dog Yoga smartphone app that offers customizable at-home sessions with meditation guidance, and seeking out YMCA memberships that work with limited budgets. A recurring theme was the tension between knowing that movement helps but struggling with very real physical and financial limitations, with aqua therapy emerging as a top recommendation from medical providers for its gentler impact on painful joints.

My RA also recommended aqua therapy but the problem is that like most of us with FMS comes financial restrictions due to not being able to work or work as much. So going to classes or joining a gym is not in the budget. But I can see how being in a pool (would have to be warm for me) would be very helpful.

Yes ! It helps the deep aching in my muscles. I usually do it on my days off as work days cause me too much fatigue . If you haven't done yoga before ,start slow and with beginner yoga. Amazon has great videos-5 day fit yoga by Gaiam is a great start!

I've heard that too. I think the goal is to keep our bodies moving.

I don't but my Rheumatologist recommended it. She recommends aqua therapy over all though. Even if it just means joining a relatively easy water aerobics class.
