Winter Fibro Winter
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Okay since it's colder here in Indiana now I am starting to buy all my winter reading books so does anyone have any recommendations? Like books on pain management, fibro, inspiration or anything to take my mind off of some pain.

I tend to read to distract myself from the pain all year round since I have other pain issues to deal with I don't normally read sci-fi but a friend gave me a whole series of Laurel K. Hamilton books which I have almost finished. I normally read inspirational books or biographies and an occasional romance novel. I have read a lot of Civil War biographiess and WWII biographies also I'm kind of a history nut lol.

Inspiration books sound good. But how about books for distraction and take a break from books related to fibromyalgia. Just a suggestion 💗

Those are all helpful books. But, to take my mind off my pain, I prefer non-fiction, historical stories. Anything else you might be interested in that takes you to another situation other than the painful present. That is what works for me.

I, too, use reading as a distraction. It takes my mind off of thinking about the things I cannot do anymore. Since I have always loved reading, it is a great outlet to keep from getting depressed.

Unfortunately, when I am having a fibro flare - which is every day, I find it difficult to concentrate on a book. I have many books but never finish them. I hope you have a better experience. Gentle hugs.☺
