My rheumatologist just put me on tramadol. Has anyone had any luck with this helping pain? I remember taking it a very long time ago for a broken foot and it didn't really help but this is higher dosage.

Tramadol does help me but I have other conditions so I also take Meloxicam and Gabapentin. The Gabapentin is specifically for the muscle pain of fibro. All together this works for me.
I find that tramadol works satisfactory for most of my pain. I also started using it after having knee replacement surgery, as I do not tolerate opioids very well (I've had gastric bypass surgery and therefore do not absorb them very well). I hope this helps you.
My previous doctor had me on this but it barely took the edge off the pain but it was better than any other options we tried. My new doctor at the Cleveland clinic said it's a narcotic and they recommended that I get off of it which i did. Instead they gave me naprosyn 500mg as needed. However I have to make sure that I have food on my stomach when I need to take it.
How long have u been taking it? Ive been on tramadol for years for pain management. Its not a quick fix med it needs to get in ur system. I didnt realize how well it was working until I tried to stop it. It doesnt take the pain away but it does make it more manageable. When I first started taking it my dr told me to give it a couple of weeks n I'm glad I did.
I hope u find something that works for u.
So I thought I'd really found something that helped. It's rained for two days and has now turned very cold. Tramadol isn't touching my pain! I feel like I should start drinking moonshine like granny on the Beverly hillbillys. She always said it was her rheumatism medicine!! πππ. At least maybe it would make me sleep. !!
