What is this burning pain in the middle of my back? It is so painful!! It's usually only left side and is worse in the evening and when I do activities!! Is this part of fibro?
I have a herniated disc in my thoracic my t5. It causes this type of pain. I also have fibro which makes the pain worse. It doesn't sound like a kidney stone as I've had about a dozen of those.
Thank you! I never thought it could be something else! My pain doc is aware of it and says that the chances of it being a disc issue is small. He said and I have read that disc issues in your thoracic is very uncommon. I have had herniated disc in my neck and two surgeries and have never felt this sort of pain. It has been going on for months so could it be a kidney stone issue?? I see him on Thursday again and am definitely going to mention it again!! Thank you everyone!!!
Sounds similar to something I experience, mainly in the mornings (doesn't matter how or where I sleep) and sometimes extending well into the day. Could be nothing much (muscle strain, awkward posture, sitting or sleeping position even) or something alongside, additional to or even part of Fibro... I'm with Ellepole on this, get it checked anyway.
I know a lot of the time it's easy to brush off symptoms as just a Fibro thing, but back pain can be much more serious and really shouldn't be ignored. It sounds like a disc bulge (worse after activities), but it could also be referred pain from an organ like a kidney trying to pass a stone.
I have and have had both issues. Kidney pain from passing stones was tremendously painful and it was felt only in the back and flank area.
I've also personally known cases of back pain being cancer- not to scare you, but it does happen. In other words, my advice would be to get it looked at, especially if you have other symptoms related to the above mentioned. Have a ct or MRI scan if you can. X-rays often do not show tissue changed properly.
Take care,
Elle
Oh yes know that all to well, I can't even sweep my kitchen floor without it burning pain in the middle of my back, even on a good day.
