I made a appointment with my family doctor .To discuss letting me try a low does of Percocet. Granted I know she said she would only treat me for depression . I'm already on a anti depressant by my rheumatologist called Amitriptyline 25 mg , a muscle relaxer Methocarbamol 750 mg but that doesn't seem to help with pain. Just makes me tired and I'm not for sure if it helps my mood I only take it at night the Amitriptyline and some times two of the relaxers that again only makes me tired and that… read more

Members overwhelmingly cautioned against seeking opioid medications like Percocet for fibromyalgia pain, sharing that while painkillers might provide temporary relief, they often lead to dependence, withdrawal, and worsening pain over time. Several members recommended fibromyalgia-specific medications including Lyrica, Cymbalta, and gabapentin, with many noting these drugs help make pain manageable rather than eliminating it entirely, while others found relief through CBD oil, medical marijuana, or combinations of treatments tailored by pain clinics. A recurring theme was the reality that fibromyalgia means living with some level of constant pain, and the goal of treatment is to take the edge off and maintain quality of life rather than chasing complete pain elimination.

TRAMADOL doesnt touch the pain for me which has progressed since diagnosis in 1994. Cant take lyrica, just got off if Cymbalta after 8 years. The thing is, this disease causes so many different ailments, you have to take a drug for this and a drug for that.

I know it's tempting to seek pain relief, but you're doing yourself a disservice by getting on opiates. You'll eventually have to stop using them because of their side effects, and then you'll have to suffer through withdrawal and probably end up with more pain than you started with.

There's nothing wrong with taking a painkiller on a bad day, but in between you should try to accept the everyday aches and learn to live with them. It's hard but it'll make you stronger.

I take cymbalta which is an antidepressant but also is supposed to help with the pain. Been on it for 9yrs or so and can't tell the difference anymore. But I'm also on soma and norco which does help. CBD oil helps me sleep!! Amitryptaline only helped me sleep.

Why not try a med for Fibro, specifically? Starting on opiates can create a dependence. Savella, Cymbalta & Lyrica are made for Fibro symptoms.
