Members shared mixed experiences with Effexor for fibromyalgia, with some finding initial relief that eventually faded and others reporting severe tiredness or challenging withdrawal symptoms that made discontinuing the medication difficult. Several members mentioned alternative medications that worked better for them, including Doxepin (praised for pain relief at nighttime doses), Nortriptyline, and higher doses of Effexor for sleep support, though cost and insurance coverage remained barriers for some. A recurring theme was the highly individual nature of medication response and the importance of finding what works for your own body, even when that means trying multiple options or switching providers.

I had CFS first too. By far the most debilitating for me.

Yes I only take it at night. It doesn't really work as an antidepressant, the dose is too low for that, but it does wonders for my pain.

What helps me the most for my pain is Doxipin
It's an antidepressant but it works hands down the best for me. I only have to take a pain medication when I have a flare up. Has anyone else tried it?
