A new group has started close to me, & was wondering if anybody has tried Yoga if so has it helped at all? I've always thought that this wasn't for me & as a 41year old male surrounded with maybe older ladies, may make me feel more embarrassed & out of place.
I already struggle in social situations & suffer with panic attacks when in busy places without somebody I know or trust beside me. Thanks for the feedback guys great group keep up the great work to help each other through xx
I do some yoga at home, streaming free yoga videos on YouTube. "Yoga with Adriene" is a really good series of videos, and her motto is "find what feels good." Short sessions have helped me tremendously. I figured if I learn some at home, I wouldn't feel like an idiot if I ever join a class.
My daughter with fibro started yoga several years ago and loves it so much that she has become an instructor. She is now healthier than she has ever been.
I take chair yoga. At the local senior center. There are quite a few men in my class. Once I start focusing I forget who is around me. I like it. Has help me be stronger and less stiffness. Has helper lower my pain the day after not the day of class. My teacher says it is our class and if it is painful stop. Our control. She says discomfort ok but pain no. I have learned a lot about how to handle my life.
I've heard great things about yoga for fibro, I even bought a yoga set (mat, block and DVD) about a year ago. It's still sitting on the floor in the spare bedroom....I haven't even opened it. I can't seem to get the energy 😕
I do some Yoga stretches at home. It does help. My doctor recommended it. :)
Yes yoga helps. I do yoga with DVD. Works perfect for me.
