Does anyone else just feel like crying sometimes? No real reason just get sad and want to cry. I guess there is a reason, not able to live my life like i want to and like I once did.

Members connected deeply over the question of crying without a clear reason, with the overwhelming consensus being that tears are a natural, healthy response to living with chronic pain, fatigue, loss, and the grief of a life that feels stolen or diminished by fibromyalgia. Many community members described crying as cleansing and necessary, triggered not only by physical pain but by the emotional weight of depression, anxiety, isolation, and major life stressors like losing loved ones, caring for aging parents, or facing the holidays alone. A recurring theme was the understanding that fibromyalgia amplifies emotional vulnerability, that it's okay to cry without apology, and that sharing these raw moments with others who truly understand provides comfort and reminds members they are not alone in their struggle.

I am not a cryer, sometimes I wish that I were. We have been preparing for company that will come today and I have pushed, pushed, and pushed myself some more. Well last night I just started crying (not a lot), but was just whimpering for no apparent reason. I think my body was just worn out and that's how it came out. Better today, need to clean my house!!! Will take a nap this afternoon though.

My emotions are often right under my skin and it takes very little for a burst of tears, but the Rheumi tells me it goes with the fatigue and continue pain that wears on your nerves, so I try to take that into account, but sometimes I have to just sit down and have a good ole cry!!!

Hell yeah! But I challenge anyone to step foot in our shoes for 1 day and not want to cry. Gentle hugs x

I have a hard time crying, but I have cried since being diagnosed. Sometimes the fatigue is so bad that I am overwhelmed with tears. Other times it is the pain. I think that crying is a good thing!

I want to cry sometimes, but I don't because I know that it will give me a headache, and that is the last thing I need. So instead, I meditate. In with the calming beautiful blue waves, out with the ugly bulbous red pain. Get centered in the moment and let the pain go.
