Members confirmed that intense, unexplained itching is a common experience with fibromyalgia, often described as feeling like ants crawling on the skin, with many scratching in their sleep hard enough to leave scars and several seeing dermatologists or getting bloodwork that revealed no clear cause. Several members shared remedies that have brought them relief, including Gold Bond Medicated anti-itch lotion, allergy tablets, E45 cream, Vistaril, aloe vera, and coconut or olive oil, though some noted that medications can lose effectiveness over time. A recurring theme was the frustration of living with an invisible symptom that has no rash or obvious trigger, coupled with the relief of discovering that this strange sensation is shared by others in the community and not just in their heads.

TRY Gold Bond anti itch lotion. It's amazing!

I've been dealing with extreme itching on my upper chest and shoulders the past two days after my colonoscopy, nothing was working. My mother in law suggested olive oil, which made me think of the coconut oil I had sitting next to me in a small vial for my lips. It's solid where olive oil isn't. I rubbed a little bit of that on and it's the first relief I've had.

I know the feeling. It's like something crawling under your skin. I have scars on my back from scratching in my sleep. The funny thing is that when I'm awake, I can't reach the places I've scratched. I also have an itchy scalp and this has resulted in hair loss and a bald patch at the front of my head.
