Does Anyone Take Lyrica

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I didn't want to take due to bipolar could flare up but I'm desparate. Even my neuron tin is not helping. It feels like my body is attacking itself. Horrible. Does Anything take pain away and I can keep some abilities?

Members shared their diverse experiences with Lyrica for fibromyalgia pain, with several reporting significant side effects like weight gain, dizziness, nausea, and troubling mood changes that led them to discontinue it, though one member called it a wonder drug despite the weight gain. Many members found relief through alternative combinations, most commonly Cymbalta paired with gabapentin, with one member describing how Cymbalta reduced her pain by 90% after 24 years of fibromyalgia. A recurring theme was the highly individual nature of medication response, with members encouraging trial of other options like Savella, muscle relaxers, topical treatments such as Icy Hot with lidocaine or Biofreeze, and natural products when prescription medications caused contradictory symptoms or simply didn't work.

I had a bad reaction to Lyrica, weight gain and bad thoughts. Cymbalta also did not work. I tried Savella, that was the only med for fibro that I tried in which there were no side effects. It did not do anything for pain for me unfortunately, but it is another med for fibro that may help. Good luck!

I did and it was horrible. I don't need help with nausea pain, dizziness , or suicidal thoughts, it didn't do anything for me. I am one of the many who do not respond to meds. In over a year I tried cymbals, lyrics, savella, gabapentin, nerontin..hmm too many too recall. I wish you success in your medical trials...
