Members shared deeply relatable experiences about heightened skin sensitivity from fibromyalgia, with many describing pain from the gentlest touch, whether from combing hair, wearing earrings, pets standing on them, or even clothing against their skin. Several members noted that this sensitivity extends beyond touch to include sounds, light, smells, and specific products, with many finding relief by using only gentle or hypoallergenic items and warning that increased facial sensitivity can signal an approaching flare. A recurring theme was the validation and comfort of discovering that others share these same struggles, along with practical suggestions like exploring treatments such as osteopathy, sacro-cranial therapy, HEPA air filters for sinus issues, and considering conditions like TMJ or trigeminal nerve involvement that may contribute to facial pain.

Check out also, re face, if you have TMJ , pain, teeth ? , jaw tension all related to face & migraine tensions? , even to the point of Trigeminal nerve affected. BUT , its not only , Welcome to our world and pop a pill:

These tension can be relieved by Self-help, from hot & cold poultices, to Red light to Ayurvedix Head massage, to Osteopathy, physio for neck , or Sacro- Cranial Therapy ...which all last three treatments are very gentle manipulations on head , neck , backspine up into head, to re- align our muscles and fascia strands, very helpful!

My skin has always been sensitive to touch, It's painful whenever someone touches me. I didn't realize that it was caused by fibromyalgia. I was two months premature I've always had sensitive senses noise, movement, light and touch. It's been worse since my fibromyalgia diagnosis in 2001. I didn't realize that other people who have fibromyalgia have the same problem. Very gentle hugs.

Me too - I also get a tingling in my cheek a bit like numbness :/ for me it's sensitive but that bit isn't painful. It normally warns me that a flare is approaching
