I've recently gotten a bit of a cold, but it seems like just minor sniffles and a cough has caused me to be mostly bedridden. A week ago I was almost normal for a fibromyalgia person. I was just wondering if your immune system is affected and if yes or no, what can you do to help get better faster?
Fibromyalgia definitely affects the immune system and I work in an elementary school - my doctors just laugh at me and tell me not to complain when I get sick since I work in a pitre dish of germs!!! I have chronic sinusitis and stay on a prescription nose spray which has kept off most sinus infections. Doctor says it's the same as over the counter fluionase (hope that's spelled right or close enough) but I feel better staying on the prescription one.
@PatMastern, I keep dissinfectant and try to stau away from even a sniffle. Some people don't even bother to stay away even though they know. I love the visitors that say,"Oh ya, we all have........." just after they hug you on their way out the door.
I keep Zicam in the house and vitamin d and c. First little hint of a cold, I'm on it like white on rice!
yes when you have Fibro, your immune system is definitely comprimized !!!!! everything does take longer to heal or feel better !!!!!! Happy Thanksgiving to all !!!!!! PEACE N LOVE 👍🌞🌹🍃🌺✌💖💖💖
@A MyFibroTeam Member The same here. The first flu shot I got was the last. I was extremely ill afterwards. It was advised that I don't get one again - and that hubby doesn't get one either. We're just careful that we don't go anywhere during cold and flu season where there are lots of people. Fibro is bad enough without adding a cold or the flu to the "mix".
