Blood Pressure Readings
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

While having a bad day with the fibromyalgia pain does anyone have high blood pressure test results as I do and I just wondered if it was a common thing with the pain of fibromyalgia?

Pain raises the BP. I always had a low pressure unless my pain was very severe at that moment. I don't believe "white coat syndrome" occurs in the doc's office only. I am quite sure it happens in traffic, lines at the slow moving grocery store, when you are taking a difficult test, having family fights, and on and on. This tells me (an RN) that the BP is high frequently.

I haven't read or heard about BP causing fibro. Pain definitely causes higher BP readings.

Yes, I do. I've had hypertension for years and take a couple pills for it but now notice when I am in the doctor's office it is usually high. Doctors don't make me nervous so I am assuming it's from the pain. Hope this helps. Best wishes!

My blood pressure will suddenly get high when I go to the Hospital or Doctors, but they said it was (White coat syndrome) however I find that when my fibo pain is bad it seems to be higher than when I am not so sore.

Pain does cause high blood pressure. When I see the osteopath my pressure is higher if I have more pain.

Yes when I'm n pain my blood pressure goes up so my doctor put me bk on blood pressure pills.... it's normally 120/78 while on the medicine but without it it's 110/78 but that's wit less pain.....so the more pain, stress or less sleep the more my BP is affected
