Does it bother you to hear clicking sounds? I can no longer stand to have some one question me or also follow behind me. I can feel them breathing. I can no longer stand to have some try to work with me in the kitchen when I cook. Can not stand to be watched I can feel it. I had a core melt down ... last night. I mean major... does anyone experience any of this?

Wow, you had a really bad day, sorry to hear that. It sounds like your central nervous system may have gotten into 'fight of flight' response. Useful when a tiger is chasing you, not so useful in modern times with so much stimulus around us. I can get easily overstimulated by sounds, lights, smells, temperature, being touched. Our nervous system is supposed to 'reset' itself to a normal baseline, but sometimes it doesn't, and things build on top of each other until it's too much. Took me a long time to learn this and to learn how to deal with it.
Now, I use very dark sunglasses, ear protection, only comfortable clothing, and other things to avoid the daily irritations. I avoid things I know can trigger over stimulation (crowds, heavy traffic, perfumes, etc.) And I plan for down time after activities I know can put me in that state.
When I am overstimulated the simplest thing can irritate, like someone chewing gum or dropping an ice cube. Then I know its time to take a break to let my system calm down...soft music, a soft lit room, short walk in cool breeze...anything that you find will help control the anxiety.
I find loud noise, especially complex sounds very intrusive and almost physically painful. Sirens are deff painful and strangely make me want to shut my eyes - like a sensory overload. Even people talking to loud makes me want to hide.
Maybe it's the miss-firing or inflammation of the sensory neurones we are experiencing!?
And yes, repetitive noises!! Aahhhgggg!!!
@A MyFibroTeam Member only answer is that a person should be more concerned about other people's feelings and there illnessesi I can't tolerate my grandkids smacking there food smacking on me fighting all the time
Rats! I will pray that your roommate will be more considerate.
I have tried the share meal times . She won't. That is a problem within its self. She is a terrible cook. ๐๐ she did not say she had a show she wanted to watch. She just pushed in and took over. Pushing dinner items out of the way. Only when the meltdown was over did she say why.
