Swelling
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

So out of no wear my ankles and legs swelled up. My legs swelled up so much I couldn't get my boots on

So cold weather cause swelling?
Is it going to be this way all winter?

Hi, with me it's not the cold, it's too much activity either walking, standing or going up and down the stairs. My knee is swollen today, because I was carrying bits upstairs yesterday tidying. As usual paying for it today! Best to put your feet up, on pillows, slightly higher than your heart if possible.
Recommend letting your doctor know if it's severe or everyday.

Cold weather is the worst for me. Having said that, this past summer was the worst summer for me. LOL!
I am much more stiff in the winter. Its also allergy time for me and I have been waking up every morning with a sinus headache. I try and keep as warm as possible so I don't stiffen up. I do my stretches more often and do light walking on the treadmill. I think it takes a while to see what the seasons bring. I know the humidity and barometric pressure has alot to do with pain.

my ankles swell up when I sit all day at work. . it's very uncomfortable and ugly! my doctor gave me a script for furosemide it help get rid of water...I don't take them all the time because you can get dehydrated if you don't drink to much, but definitely good to take every so often! I'm not sure if the swelling is related to fibro though
