Members connected over the shared experience of severe foot pain when walking barefoot, with many describing sharp shock-like sensations, morning stiffness, and numbness after standing or sitting too long. Several members shared that their doctors diagnosed plantar fasciitis, an inflammation of the foot's protective sheath, and offered practical relief strategies including freezing water bottles to roll under feet for cooling relief, custom-made orthotics from physiotherapy clinics, and taking pain medication an hour before getting up to allow mobility. A recurring theme was the difficulty of distinguishing between plantar fasciitis and fibromyalgia-related nerve pain, with many members awaiting specialist appointments or receiving insoles from podiatrists while managing the daily challenge of chronic foot pain with determination and mutual support.

Yes my feet are very painful and left foot goes numb if I stand a wee bit too long and sitting having a meal in a restaurant when sitting too long. My GP sent me to the podiatrist and she said I have Plantar Faciaitis which is inflammation of the protective sheath of your foot muscles. It is so painful when you get up from sitting, getting out of bed etc. One good tip she gave me was to freeze tap water in a small smooth plastic bottle and once frozen roll it under your feet and wow it feels great as it takes away the heat which is so common. I will be thinking of you all now raiding the kitchen and freeze your bottles πŸ˜‚πŸ‘

Yeah during the night I can't just get up and go for a wee or run and help my kids ... I take my pills an hour before I have to get up so that I can actually get up, xx
You aren't alone and so many people will throw the words Plantar Fasciitis at you, it's one worth taking note of but not the only reason.
Sometimes it's as simple as your feet being as restless as your legs and becoming tense to the point of when you go to walk they are so tight.... It hurts ;(
Either way sweetie I send gentle hugs and wish you well x

HI yes u too get really bad pain in my toes and under my toes.. I went to the doctors about it and she sent me for xrays to see if it was arthritis. The results come back clear apart from a bunion. They are putting the pain down to the fibro. I have also been to podiatry and they have given me insoles for my shoes

I also get a lot of foot pain, suffer with both feet pins and needles mostly when I sit down. I also suffer from Plantar Fasciitis. Also the only way I can describe the other symptom is like a bolt of lighting from my feet up to my lower back. life is not easy is it? Like most people on this site I will not be beaten by this chronic pain, yes we have to rest and in agony but I try to do as much possible. Take care x
