Members offered extensive support on losing weight gained from fibromyalgia and medications, with many sharing that they've struggled with similar weight gains ranging from 40 to over 100 pounds. Several members described practical strategies that worked for them, including water-based exercise like swimming or aqua therapy (which reduces pain during movement), low-carb or modified Atkins diets, cutting out soda and sugar, eating smaller portions with more vegetables, walking even short distances daily, and some mentioned structured programs or physical therapy tailored for fibromyalgia. A recurring theme was the importance of starting slow, being patient with yourself on difficult days, finding what works for your individual body, and celebrating small victories along the way rather than pushing through pain that could cause setbacks.

In 2007, I was finished having all my surgeries and knew I wouldn't be returning to work!! I was always very active and athletic although not slim by any means. I knew I wouldn't diet or exercise, so I got myself a dog so I knew I would at least get out and walk him everyday. I walked him at least twice a day until the last two years when I got worse and he got older then it was only once a day. He was a Great Dane so he didn't require a lot of exercise but would be happy to go out anytime. He not only helped me to at least not gain any more weight but he became my best friend!!! Believe me, he saved my life in so many ways and I am thankful everyday but unfortunately I had to send him to the rainbow bridge in July of this year!! It's just an idea but I will guarantee you won't regret it!!

Gained 20 lbs. on gaba. But now that I'm off it I've started walking a little each day and doing QiGong. Lost 6 pounds. Not much but it's a start.

Swimming walking n stretching unfortunately you have to break through barriers and brave the pain but daily stretches really does get easier bit by bit and ease the pain! Lot of you seem to be the nasty drugs the U.S. dole out like sweeties! Ladies gents if you are still in pain, surely they aren't working, please don't spank me this is purely my opinion! Look up on BBC iPlayer for a documentary series about a English Dr trying to reduce the poison they give us in prescription.......

Lol exercise is out of the question . Stretching is really good if u stretch the right places . Deep body massage with hard prassher works wonders but u have to be tough becouse it hurts like a bitch . But will worth days or weeks of pain free in that area . If u have a strong person to apply prasher . I also gain a lot of wight from the start I would say 40 lbs . Yes I'm older it it's hard to get the wight off . But I have found that low carb is the answer over 20 lbs gone in just a few months . Start away from bread and pasta and as much suger as u can and and the wight will fall off from a 16 to a 12 now feel so much better . Still have lbs to go but it works . Akiins died will work . I don't fallow it by the book . Just work ever day trying to stay away from the bad stuff ;)

It's too hard for me to even walk right now, my Tree n I took a walk two nights, ago now yesterday I was sore, the whole way my back just killed but last night and today I'm so STIFF SO SORE MY MUSCLES HURT SOOOOO BAD I CAN BARELY WALK... I use to go to pool in mornings FIR hour or two do stuff n pool walk swim arm exercises so forth but then I got more sick I have not been back I really want a tred mill I think that be beneficial but that's all I got, I was thinking about trying my Wii fit again and focusing longer on yoga then anything else... As far as diet I never found one that worked so I just learned what was healthier then what I was cooking with so like I instead if cooking in vegtabke oil I use OLIVE OIL, I wanna try coconut oil I heard super good FIR u however I'm weiry cuz I don't care FIR coconut taste... I cut back on pasta n breads n most starches added more veggies had a salad every time before dinner helps fill u u then won't eat as much... Cut portions, it helped but it's not easy oh n sugar I try cut out as much if not all sugar, I use brown sugar to sweeten teas coffees etc it's lower calories, but sweetens FASTER so u need less... Lots of water n tea I tried stop soda all together u be surprised if u do that's like 10 lbs right there no joke!!! Allllll I can think of oh u really don't need to go to a gym I use do things right at my house bought dumb bell weights at Walmart rest was all me... Good luck it's not easy I been struggling since 24 to loose weight right now it's not an option til I can figure out the preciseness of things, and get on meds... Hoping MORROW FIR some <3
