Members connected over the widespread experience of numbness and tingling in various body parts, including toes, fingers, hands, feet, legs, arms, hips, and shins, with some describing sensations lasting for years or becoming so severe they lead to accidental injuries. Several members shared that Gabapentin has been helpful in managing these symptoms, while others mentioned strategies like keeping affected areas moving, using ergonomic tools like canes with special handles, and exercising with items like cat balls. A recurring theme was the frustration of not knowing which symptom stems from fibromyalgia versus other overlapping conditions like bursitis or sciatica, and the exhausting effort required to avoid triggering numbness through everyday activities like pressure or positioning.

I do but I move a lot so it doesn't go numb. My feet and arms and hips all go numb if I put any pressure on them. It's tiring so it's hard to remember not to do things that trigger it to happen. It still happens when I get a manicure y arms go and I never feel it.

On my right foot, my third, fourth, and fifth toes are often numb, hence the reason I break my pinky toe all the time due to hitting it on furniture or doors. My right hand often ends up with numb fingers too. I am right dominant, and I do have bursitis and sciatica on my right side so that might explain my feet, and using my cane causes issues which is why I chose to get an ergonomic handle. It's hard to know what causes what with this condition. Gentle hugs. xxx
