Members shared how they recognize a fibromyalgia flare, with the most common signs being a significant increase in pain beyond their normal baseline, severe fatigue that makes even simple tasks feel impossible, and flu-like symptoms including body aches, skin sensitivity, brain fog, and muscle weakness. Several members described specific indicators such as sharp throbbing pain instead of the usual achiness, blurry vision, hot flashes, muscle twitching, migraines, and increased irritability or emotional distress. A recurring theme was that flares can last anywhere from days to months, often triggered by stress or overexertion, leaving members feeling utterly depleted and struggling to function despite taking daily pain medications.

You often feel like you are having the flu, but it's even worse. My friend wrote a blog about it describing it pretty well. I'll share it with you here: http://fibrowarriorslivinglife.com/2016/09/18/w...
There are ways that I help my clients try to keep their flares down to a minimum. Reach out to me if you want some suggestions.

No matter how much sleep I get I'm exhausted (falling asleep at my desk or fighting it while driving) it seems like every single step I take hurts and drains my body. My pain level increases even with taking pain meds, headaches are more tension type. My energy level is below zero. I also get big knots in my neck and shoulder blade area

For me, it's an increase in symptoms (a big increase) & just generally crankier. My son used to say, are you in more pain? I'd say yes, why? Am I crankier? He'd say oh yeah. Hope this helps.
