My sleep is so terrible - always has been even before major Fibro symptoms but it just gets worse and worse. My main reason is that my muscles literally NEVER relax, I always feel like I'm holding my head up slightly above the pillow and can't relax my neck in to it. My arms and pec muscles never relax either and if I even approach relaxing they all start to twitch, shake and spasm. Anyone else get this? It drives me insane! I get angry at myself for not being able to relax!

Members connected deeply over the frustrating experience of muscle tension and spasms preventing restful sleep, with many describing the maddening feeling of never being able to fully relax even when exhausted. Several members shared that Baclofen has been a game changer for muscle spasms, with advice to work with a doctor to find the right dosage and timing for the best results, while others mentioned supplements like D-ribose, sleep aids like Trazodone, and getting tested for restless leg syndrome which can affect the neck and shoulders. A recurring theme was the relief of knowing others share this struggle and the importance of finding a knowledgeable doctor who understands fibromyalgia and can help navigate the trial and error of finding what works.

For 3 years I was getting less than 2-3 hours sleep. The pain in my back and hips seem to get worst at night. I think it was from laying in bed for so long. Finally 6 months ago my therapist prescribed Trazodone 150mg. I would sleep all night and not wake up groggy. Unfortunately, for the past month or has not worked. I may need a higher dosage.

I take baclofen for this I've had the dose increased quite often when it gets worse but it is brilliant. the secret is getting the dosage right and when you take them. They work straight away but the more you take and get in your system then it works even better. Xx

I take Baclofen also. At first I thought it was knocking me out because I slept so good but actually it was just relaxing me enough I could sleep. It doesn't make me tired at all. I even take it before I swim. I also take D-ribose that you can find in your vitamin shop and that REALLY helps. good luck and big hug

I take Baclofen for my muscle spasms and that has helped tremendously! My spasms used to be so bad that my legs would look like I was tapping my feet.

I have constant tension headaches and take six BC powders a day for it.
I also had a sleep study done and they said I moved constantly. I get stiff really easy so I believe I move partly due to that but not being able to relax is part of it too.
I take baclofen also. Seems to help some at night. During the day I just have to stay busy and hope it makes me tired enough to sleep. I have sleep apnea and night terrors too so that doesn't help either as well as insomnia that keeps me up 24 hours two days a week at its worst and one night a week on average at the least.
Hope you can find some relief and peace. :-)
