Members shared widely varied experiences with Cymbalta for fibromyalgia, with some finding meaningful pain relief while others saw little to no benefit or struggled with side effects like nausea, nightmares, night sweats, weight gain, and dental problems. Several members described stopping the medication abruptly and experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms, including difficulty walking and feeling like their legs couldn't support their body, which led them to restart it. A recurring theme was the trial-and-error nature of finding the right treatment, with members encouraging each other to keep advocating with doctors and exploring alternatives like Lyrica or Savella if Cymbalta doesn't work.

I have been on it for 5 years now, alot of weight gain for me :( terrible nightmares, night sweats in winter, and the pain still continues but too scared to go off it that the pain will get worse!

i take it and it helps had to start on the lowest dose as could not tolerate the sickness, not sleeping and pain has increased so may need to increase dose. side effects wore off after a few weeks.

I always feel like some examination rat . They don't know what to do so they do it to me . I have gotten to the point where I have actually told them more than they were told lol ! Lyrica was a nasty drug for me as well , I hope you are ok with the effects now :)

Cymbalta was not effective at all for me. Lyrica was very effective but I had bleeding from the kidneys so had to stop. Currently taking Savella, but does not appear to be working very well. Keep trying until someone listens.
