Trazodone

Trazodone

Has anyone been prescribed this drug? What are your experiences with it? I was prescribed this by my neurologist today and I like to research side effects and experiences with any new drugs that I start.

It was developed as an antidepressant but had too much sedation/sleepiness as a side effect for people to want to use it. Now it is often prescribed as a sleep aid when the doctors don't want you on something addicting. It gives me medicine head and makes me sleep for days. Some people love it. The oversleeping is said to go away with more regular use.

I've been on trazadone for long time. It takes a little bit of time to get used to it but it works for me. I take it with Zanaflex, a muscle relaxer at bedtime. I can't sleep without it. Hope it works for you. Hugs. :-)
