I'm suffering severe brain zaps, and brain noise after going off generic Cymbalta. I've had brain noise and zaps for years starting we the TN I went off Celexa and Lexapro years ago. But these are severe. Is there anything to calm it down do I can sleep? I listen to AMSRI and it helps a little.

Members shared personal experiences with severe brain zaps after stopping Cymbalta, confirming these are common withdrawal symptoms that typically resolve over time, even when tapering gradually. Several members recommended using distraction techniques like reading, baths, and television to cope with the discomfort, with many noting that nighttime symptoms are often the worst. A recurring theme was the difficulty of Cymbalta withdrawal, with members offering encouragement that the symptoms will eventually pass and advising slow, gradual tapering to minimize the severity of brain zaps.

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry . I know exactly how you feel. You are going through withdraws from the Cymbalta. I hope you did not go cold turkey. But even if you did taper off you will still get withdraw symptoms. You usually get the brain zaps, agitation, and insomnia. That was the bad news. The good news (yay) is that it will go away with time. Diversion is your best friend right now. TV, books, baths, etc.
I was on Cymbalta for two months when I lost my sister to breast cancer eight years ago. My doc recommended it to me just to help with my grief. So after two months I didn't need it anymore and stopped taking it. I went through the exact same things you are going through now. I swore to myself I would never take that drug again.
Nights are the worst because it's quiet and it's just you alone with all those things going on. But know each day is one day closer to it being gone.
I wish you peace tonight and that tomorrow will be better. Prayers.

Why do u need to get off ur meds??
Maybe it's ur body telling u. I need whatever is in it.
Maybe anxiety meds would help. .
I know here in pa the pharmacy stores sell all natural anxiety victims or as I call them a chill pill. Best of luck💜

If I miss one dose of Cymbalta I get brain zaps. Awful. I've been on it for probably ten years.
