I don't know for sure if there is permanent damage as I am new to this also, but what I've read is there is no real damage to the muscles. It seems the pain is caused by the fascia ....the connective tissue around the muscles. Because we don't get good sleep the fascia doesn't repair like it should so it causes pain. I keep thinking if I could give my body a true rest and stop the fight or flight stress response I seem to be stuck in, maybe I would heal up a bit better.

I get a ton of symptoms at once too. I always have something going on, and many times, 3 or 5 somethings. I'm tired. I ache. I have a headache, I have a rash. My stomach is queasy. etc and on and on.

My doctor told me that the only good thing about fibro is that it wont cause any permanent damage
