Does anyone have sharp pain around the rib cage when they breathe in from tight muscles?

Yes I have!!! It was a huge issue. I have recently started seeing an orthopedic massage therapist every other week. She works specifically on my rib cage. So far it has helped. Give it a try!!!

I have finally started seeing a chiropractor n I always had pain from my muscles in my rib cage always hurt. When I first saw the chiropractor for a week or two I hurt even worse I couldn't wear a bra or anything tight it hurt to breathe. But I figured I'd try it a few more times if it still hurt I'd stop. But the next few visits the muscles in my back started feeling better. He said it was because none of the muscles were right due to my spine n a few ribs being out of place.
So yes I know what ur going through. I don't know maybe seeing a chiropractor or evening getting a short message might help 💜

I went to the ER for chostrocondritis before I had FM. Now I've read on some websites that it's related. It does feel like you're having a heart attack. I get very anxious, almost getting panic attacks from it because it hurts to breath. I read that moist heat helps. I use a heating pad that you put in the microwave and it gets moist. Then I take an anti inflammatory. Rest. Don't lift anything heavy. It's in the muscles. This helps a lot. Good luck. Hope it helps you.

Oh yes dear . Mine is under my breasts and around the first rib. Also right on the top of my chest. Feels like a heart attack on either side. Just a FM pain nothing to be alarmed about 😱
