Members shared mixed experiences with gabapentin and breathing difficulties, with most emphasizing the importance of contacting a doctor immediately if breathing problems occur, as it could signal an allergic reaction. Several members discussed the challenge of finding the right dosage, noting that it can take time to balance pain relief with side effects, and shared that symptoms like dizziness, itchiness, or temporary chest heaviness were part of their adjustment period. A recurring theme was the relief members felt once their dosage was optimized, with many encouraging patience and self-advocacy while fine-tuning treatment.

I've taken 3 caps a day for a long time and can't say they help just top other pain mess, but a few weeks ago gp put my dose up to 2 caps 3 times a day for the pain and pins and needles I was getting in my scalp

Yes I had this as well as feeling itchy all over and a rash. I was told to stop it immediately as I was allergic to it.

Don't wait - call your doctor or the pharmacist immediately. I, too had a med that I was allergic to and had extremely severe reactions and I have to tell you - I thought I was going to die. It is very scary. I was on Gabapentin for a while and the only thing that I can remember about it is that it made me very dizzy and light-headed. I was on it for a long time, but because I was on so many meds, I couldn't tell if that was working for my pain or not. So, since I had those side effects, I felt that it was best I come off of it. I hope you find the answers you need and PLEASE call the doctor or pharmacist ASAP - having a problem breathing is a serious side effect of any medication. Good luck.
