The last few days, I have had excruciating muscle spasms (for the lack of a better way to explain what's happening). Never have had spasms to this degree. Started in lower back; were so severe muscles were constructing so hard, I was actually bending backwards. Not long after, spasm was in left calf, then the most concerning happened. Muscle spasm in throat in which I was not able to breathe until spasm finished. After the start in lower back, spasms have continued. I have been plagued ever… read more

Initially I would try upping your intake of calcium, potassium, sodium, and magnesium. Make sure you a te getting enough water. In the military Charlie horses and severe cramps were always treated with bananas and more water. Could be the fibromyalgia combined with neuropathy. Do you have any Gabapentin or Lyrica? It helps with calming the nerves. I use Gabapentin and methocarbomal because my muscles will seize in my neck and cause me to get nauseous putting me down for an entire day. If the first suggestions of vitamin intake and lots of water doesn't help I would go see the doctor about Gabapentin with your muscle relaxer. I heard Lyrica cause severe withdrawal issues and weight gain. But I've never used it. I try to use as little medication as possible. Ive always functioned better with exercise, good nutrition, stress management techniques as my "medicine." It significantly reduces the brain fog. I hope that helps. Remember what works for one person in this mess of a disorder doesn't always work for the next. Just keep swimming!

Nettelee, I have experienced throat getting tight/closing & take 1/2 over the counter benedryl which worked immediately for me. Most people would take a whole. They can make u little sleepy/relaxed. But I would in the mean time call Dr. It can be allergic reaction to something. I know it's hard but don't panic & try to stay calm. Call Dr if persists. I hope this helped. Positive thoughts for u😌.

I take Robaxin(methocarbamol) when my muscle spasms are bad. I have had them all over my body at once. Sometimes I have very sore skin after they stop. I know that Gabapentin helped a lot. I think you need to see a doctor about the spasms in your throat. It could be dangerous if you had them in your sleep. Take care. i do not love all the medicines I have to take, but I have adapted in order to have a good life.

You may be having an allergic reaction to your medication. Got to the ER, urgent care and see your doctor asap.
