Just wondering does anyone else find themselves clenching their teeth all day? Not sure if this is what's causing pain in my neck and jaw! Been really bad this week for it!

Members connected over the struggle of clenching their teeth throughout the day, with many identifying anxiety, pain flares, and certain medications like Cymbalta and Effexor as potential triggers. Several members recommended practical solutions that have helped them, including custom mouth guards or retainers from dentists (often covered by medical insurance under a TMJ diagnosis), TENS units for muscle spasms, muscle relaxers, physical therapy exercises like placing the tongue on the roof of the mouth to interrupt clenching, and regular follow-ups with healthcare providers. A recurring theme was the relief of finally understanding the connection between jaw clenching and symptoms like headaches, neck pain, and poor sleep, with one member sharing that a proper TMJ diagnosis and fitted retainer dramatically reduced their headaches and improved their quality of life.

Yes I do almost all the time. I do several things for it. I bought a mouth guard, like football players wear, and I use it at night so I don't damage my teeth. I also have a tens unit that works really well with releasing the spasm. You also can get muscle relaxers from your doctor, but they can cause insomnia.

Get a plastic retainer from your dentist. I wear mine to not snore grind teeth and breathe easier.

Mine was diagnosed as TMJ, I have a custom mouthpiece that your medical insurance can cover, as it's an actual medical diagnosis. Helps tremendously!
