So some of u know I gained 40 pounds from medicine. I went from trying to gain weight at 110 to now 150.
I guess my question is how do I dress now that I'm bigger? I've gone from a size 1 to 8 in pants.
Do I just go n buy larger shirts. I want to be comfortable with my body n in clothes.
Sorry to ask such a stupid question I've Just never had to deal with this
So not a stupid question! Buy and wear what feels good and what looks flattering to you! I just ready and article a few weeks age about the sizing of clothing and its history.... Trust me when I say, do not worry about what size you're buying! Companies adjust those numbers to increase sales during that seasons trends based on consumers. The origional standard measurements we taken back in the forties, all white slender women.... It was adjusted again in the 70s and again another time I believe. Everyone, women especially should buy what fits and when they get home try it on one more time (if you're like me you have to see it on in your own home to decide f you're keeping it) and if you decide to keep it cut that stupid size tag out. It is uncomfortable enough most days living with fibro, stressing about a numbered tag in our clothing is not anything we need to worry ourselves over. And if you're not feeling comfortable in anything then I say wear nothing at home for as long as possible. And if you have to go out find some kick ass accessories! 💁🏻❤️
I've been overweight a lot in my life and find that loose, boxy things look sloppier and ADD weight and attention to the waist. Try layers. Pants, fitted to show off the butt or legs if they're better and a tank with a jacket or that big blousy one as a jacket. Open or buttoned to show off your chest or waist, whichever you feel is your better asset. You gotta be confident at Whatever size you are. Confidence is the sexiest thing ANYone can wear. Good luck in your fibro journey. Many of us go up in weight with meds and can relate.
Buy what's comfortable. Especially when you have the "even clothing hurts" day, soft baggy clothes are the best. Hell man, I sometimes buy maternity clothes b/c the fit better (I just cut the tags off so no one sees it)
I am doing a capsul wardrobe. My closet is smaller with basic items that I can mix and match. Maxi skirts and tank tops with cardigans are my staples. That way I can put on cute shoes or scarves. Plus I look way more dressed up than it feels. They are so comfortable
Wear what's comfortable. I went from an 8 to a 22. I'm a 20 now. Was a 16. But med changes and depression added the weight.
