Recently I have been experiencing an array of new symptoms including buzzing in limbs, sensations of ground shaking, waking up after not breathing and difficulty swallowing as well as terrible arthritis in joints. I am being monotored but no new diagnosis yet. Has anyone experienced a development of coexisting immune or inflammatory conditions?

@A MyFibroTeam Member I had the nausea and feeling that something was stuck in my throat. It took FOREVER for the doctors to decide what the problem was and get it treated properly. I'll spare you the long story but the end result was acid reflux. Or GERD, if you'd like. It took MONTHS for me to heal. Of course, it got real bad and I ended up at a gastroenterologist. I was getting ready to have fundoplication surgery but they also diagnosed me with IBS at that time and didn't recommend it. I get migraines too, I have for years. I was told they would go away or at least get better after menopause but mine got worse. Mine are severe pain in my right eye and right side of head. I was put on Topamax for the migraines but I still had break through headaches. I had one so bad the whole right side of my face drooped. I ended up in the hospital and they ruled out a stroke but suggested I see a neurologist. My migraines were then considered "complicated". So with a high dose of Topamax and break through medication, the migraines are somewhat under control. I still get them, but not as often. All this was before my FM diagnosis too. I guess I'm concerned you're just waiting for the pain specialist. That might take care of your back pain issues and leg numbness depending on your MRI results, but what about your other symptoms?? What's your doctor doing about those?? I know from experience how miserable you are!!! Gentle hugs to you my friend!!
@A MyFibroTeam Member I was also diagnosed with sleep apnea before fibromyalgia. Been using CPAP nearly 3 years now. .
Yes I have been experiencing a lot of nausea, feeling that something is stuck in my throat, excruciating back pain which is affecting my walking, migraines in my whole face it feels like plus numbness in legs... I'm awaiting to be re referred to pain management and just had MRI... I hope it doesn't develop into MS for any of us.. Sending hugs x
MS and RA are auto-immune conditions and should show up in a blood test called an antibody screen.
@A MyFibroTeam Member Sumatriptan, or Imitrex, is to be used at the first sign of the migraine. Is it by injection? That works the fastest and the best. Didn't your doctor give you something for nausea to take too? If you don't take the Imitrex soon enough, it won't work. I was never on it because I used to wake up with migraines a lot but I think a lot of that was due to my undiagnosed sleep apnea at the time. I take Topamax 225 mg twice a day to prevent migraines. When I get one, I take Promethazine for nausea, and to aid in the absorption of the other meds, then 30 minutes later I take Zomig and 2 Alleve. If the headache isn't gone in 2 hours, I take another Zomig. This is what my Neurologist ordered and has worked well for both the nausea and the headaches. Maybe you should talk to your doctor about something for nausea. My doctor told me the oral medication won't absorb as well if you're nauseous because of the stomach acids. Good luck!
@A MyFibroTeam Member I'm taking sumatriptan for the migraines, however they don't always help as the nausea takes over., They're definitely getting worse which is why I've had an MRI again. I've been under pain management however it was before all my symptoms presented themselves. I was given a TENs machine and pregabalin. The machine helped relax my pain for a while but then it started to feel like electric shocks on my body. I've had physio but having to wait around the hospital left me in pain so I do what I can at home. I couldn't tolerate the pregabalin so now on Tramadol, Paracetamol & Morphine patches... Just takes edge off the severe pain... So I'm going through process again as symptoms have changed.. Doctor is quite helpful so can't complain.. I'm also thankful for this site because when no one around you understands fibro friends are always here so thank you xx
