Went to the doctor today and the doctor put me on NUCYNTA. Has anyone taken this medication and did it help with the pain?

Members discussed their experiences with Nucynta for fibromyalgia pain management, with one member sharing it was the only medication that provided even minimal relief from severe pain. Several members expressed frustration over inadequate pain control that confines them to bed and prevents them from living active lives, with many also noting significant weight gain from Lyrica and difficulty accessing Nucynta due to insurance coverage or regional availability. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of chronic pain limiting life at a young age, met with mutual support, prayers, and suggestions to explore complementary treatments like acupuncture, swimming, and chiropractic care.

I'm on it now. It's the only thing that has even come close to taking a tiny bit of pain away.

Hi Love, Went to see my Dr. because I have been swelling up my hands eyelids and joints, so she has put me on water tablets to see if it helps then after a week stop them and the have a blood test to see if my kidneys are functioning properly?? As for the Nucynta it's not available here only in the States I guess.
So I will fight on another day as they say Don't let it grind you down. I hope your pain soon subsided or calms down a bit. I am off to put my feet up, hope you have a good weekend.
(((Hugs)))) Xx

@A MyFibroTeam Member you sound just like me. I'm so sorry. I got this 11 years ago when I was 57. You're so young.
I was a well known athlete... I had to stop everything. Broke my heart. I was 10 when I started.
I'm really anxious to see how this drug works for you.
I need to tell you my experience with Lyrica. It never helped me and I gained 45 lbs. I've never been overweight in my life. I met someone that gained as much as 80. I think everyone that's taken it has gained a lot of weight.
Take care...I will pray for you.
Susan
