Members shared overwhelmingly positive experiences with gluten-free diets for fibromyalgia, with many reporting dramatic improvements in acid reflux, inflammation, psoriasis, pain levels, and overall quality of life, though some noted it wasn't a complete cure and a few saw no difference at all. Several members emphasized that gluten promotes inflammation in fibro-sensitive bodies, with many describing how even small amounts of gluten trigger painful flares lasting days, and some also found that eliminating dairy alongside gluten provided additional relief. A recurring theme was the challenge of sticking to the diet, especially around tempting foods like fresh bread and restaurant rolls, but the consensus was that avoiding gluten is worth the effort given the significant reduction in pain and symptoms most members experienced.

I do gluten free, works for me especially as I also have arthritis and every time I go back on the gluten it flares up again. I've been naughty lately and am paying dearly for it! My naturopath explained that gluten promotes inflammation in the body and our Fibro bodies are sensitive to that. I need to listen to her more often I think, this mornings banana bread probably wasn't worth all this pain...... :(

I went gluten free 3.5 years ago after being bed ridden with severe acid reflux disease, fibro, and other issues. Since then my quality of life has increased dramatically. Many of my health problems have gotten better, however, others have still appeared. It was not a cure, but it was what I needed to kickstart my healing journey.

I've been doing gluten free for years now and in addition to other eliminations. Gluten free is especially helpful for me. I certainly notice a difference in flareups. I believe the % of traditional bread products that is gluten has increased tenfold since the 50s and 60s. That's why gluten can effect some people now who did not have a problem in the past.

I dont have a gluten free diet but have found that eating bread bloats me so I tend to have rice cakes, I do have a lactose free diet and find my symptoms are much easier than they were before.

My husband bought me a bread machine, or bread maker. He has made fresh gluten free bread for me. Its so good. Just need a good recipe. It was hard for me at first with no gluten. But once you do it and keep doing it. You get use to it. its not bad.
