Members connected deeply over the painful and frustrating experience of losing hand function with fibromyalgia, with many describing dropping items unexpectedly, struggling to grip utensils or cups, experiencing weakness and tremors, and even having carpal tunnel surgery that didn't fully resolve the issue. Several members shared coping strategies including using magnesium spray or supplements, applying topical pain relief like Voltarol, sandwiching hands between hot gel packs, switching to bottles instead of glasses, and getting comprehensive vitamin testing since deficiencies in iron, vitamin D, B1, and B6 can mimic fibro symptoms. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of losing independence in basic tasks like writing, typing, or holding a coffee mug, balanced by fierce encouragement to keep fighting, take breaks when needed, and trust that difficult periods will eventually pass.

Being off balance, dizzy, forgetful (fog), aches, etc, can be from vitamin deficiencies. In my two year fight with this crap, I kept thinking there HAS to be SOMETHING weird going on. I took a list of tests I wanted done to a new family Dr and he agreed they should ALL be done! (I had found out my previous Dr did not do all the testing they said they did...GRRRR!!!) So, I'm 6 weeks into healing. They found I was SIGNIFICANTLY deficient in 4 things; Iron (NOT the same as being anemic...I was fine in finger prick test), Vit D, B1 and B6. If you read the symptoms of deficiencies in all kinds of vitamins and minerals, you will see MOST sound like Fibro symptoms. Just info I wanted to pass on. HERE'S TO FIGHTING FIBRO!!!

Yes I get this problem BUT I have been told its arthralgia not fibro, I can,t peel spuds anymore nor pick up a heavy pan.. I rub in voltarol/diclofenic like hand cream it relieves it-just be careful where you put your hands-don't rub your eyes if you use it this way!

I experience this quite often. Especially on days I know I have heavy keyboard use. I drop things or lose my balance. As far as stages go I've read that there stages but can't recall what they are. I believe there are 4.
