I would agree you would most likely need 2 different doctors If you can get doctors who practice at the same hospital you may as them to consult about what the options are of having them both done together with the 2 different docs there.I haed my gastric bypass done DR Frank Chae he had outstanding reviews and so did the facility, they were all received the quality care award. I would think long about having the weightloss surgery. Every doctor told me that my conditions would not go away but would improve significantly with the weighloss and it just didn't make a bit of difference. /there's a lot of side effects of very common things that tend to happen as a result of weight loss surgery. If you would like to chat feel free to text my cell at (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators) and we can arrange a time to talk and I can give you all the info and experience that I have.

I had gastric bypass after gaining ,75 pounds on Gabapentin and Lyrica. It must be done by a specialist, an internal medicine MD, but many DO NOT do that procedure. I get terrible ulcers at the sight of my surgery, the Dr I see for my ulcers does not do that surgery, she's against it because of all the problems she sees after it. I was pushing 300 on the meds, taken off them I could go to the gym and I'm about 145 now. I could barely walk at 300.

Darn. I was hoping that she could do it all. Thank y'all!

As far as I know ob/gyn docs aren't trained in weight loss surgery.

I don't think so. Because I believe the scopes would not be placed apporiately for this. Plus I do not think that is a procedure that an obgyn can perform. You could always as them first.
