Pain In Hips
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone get a lot of pain in their hips? My hips are killing me lately and not sure why, along with the lower back pain I can barely walk with it and its constant. Any suggestions for relief would be grateful. Thanks

I have lower back pain for years. I rely heavily on my Tens Unit. Unfortunately, I have used it so much that I am now getting blisters on my lower back and cannot wear the electrodes for weeks until it heals. I have recently been getting hip pain along with my lower back pain. It is tough to lay down when my lower back hurts, then I try to sleep on my sides and both sides of my hips hurt which for some reason increases pain on my lower back. I had back surgery last November and since then, I have not been able to sleep on my stomach and lower back pain has not gone away. So it's a nightmare trying to fall asleep.
*If I could, I would use my Tens Unit more often for the pain.
*I also use a cane at times when my back and hip pain is at its worse.
*I use a heating pad on and off during the day. I strap the electric heating pad around my waist every night so no matter which way I lay down, the heating pad is securely around my lower back/hip area.
*I also buy the Shoulder Disposable Heat Wrap from the Dollar Store, I use it on my lower back when I need to leave the house or at times when doing house work. It lasts about 6 hours. I usually buy 10 at a time.
*I use the ice pack on/off during the day while laying down or when I a doing house work.
*I also use Biofreeze when I am out and about.
Hope this list helps you. Hugs to all xoxo

Hi, your hip's most likely hurt because of your back, it's all connected. I can't survive without Norco, flexeril, hot epson salt baths and a heating pad/ice packs, what ever one works....Hope you feel better soon....

Unfortunately this is part of the disease!! I started getting leg pain in December and realized after reading many articles, that the hips are part of it as well. My doctor thought I had bursitis in my hips so sent me for X-rays and nothing wrong. When I went to my rheumatologist he thought the same thing, even though I already explained that I'd had X-rays done, so he gave me cortisone shots in both hips and of course it did nothing to help. My hips have been so bad lately I can barely walk which is killing me because I had always been so active and I'm scared I'm going to end up in a wheelchair it hurts so much. It is really starting to wear on me, all of this leg and hip pain, and don't know if there truly is any relief for us!!! Hope you have a few pain free days ahead!!

I use ice packs for my hip pain. I also put a pillow between my knees when I sleep on my side, at least it starts between my knees, usually it isn't even on the bed by morning!!

Yes I do unfortunately ,in my case stress is the cause of my major pains....if I stay away from stress as much as I can and take Lyrica 150mg 3 times a days,I'm able to fonction almost normally .Last time I've stressed I was in bed for 1 month did physio for 3 months for my lower back.My hips are almost always in some kind of pain but like I said My medications and keeping away from stress is my help. Sorry you are having such a hard time ...from what I reed ,it's part of Fibro those pains .Sending gentle hugs your way
