I woke up today after about 4 hrs of sleep ( can't sleep much lately) and the palms of both hands and the bottom of my feet were swollen and burning. This has happened maybe 3 other times in the last 9 yrs. My hands are raw feeling but pretty much ok now but my feet are still bad. I used an ice pack on them and it did help but the minute I stopped it was back. It's very hard to walk and I can't get down on my knees and crawl, lol. Is this part of fibro or something else? I see my pain Dr… read more

Members shared their experiences with burning and swelling in hands and feet, with many confirming this as a painful symptom of fibromyalgia that can appear during flare-ups and may be related to neuropathy. Several members offered practical relief strategies including soaking feet in cool water or Epsom salt, wearing compression or diabetic socks, using ice packs, taking gabapentin, and resting until symptoms subside. A recurring theme was the unpredictable nature of fibro flares and the importance of finding what works for your body while staying resilient through each difficult episode.

I have had burning and swelling a lot during my dealings with the disease! You are doing what you can. I really don't see pain doctors anymore because in the end it created more problems. You are having what I call flares. I'm in one myself. I never know what part of me will be attacked. They do pass with pain and anguish but I hold on to the fact it will pass and you get back up and be prepared for the next time. Doctors don't get it until they really have a useful treatment for the disease and not the symptoms. Feel Better!

My feet are burning a lot of the time and it hurts like hell! It is really weird to explain to people that this is also a part of Fibro! I think everyone must be starting to think I'm nuts! Lol

I have this issue occasionally. I have found that it happens if I am getting too much sugar. Take note of what you have had to eat the day before. As far as how to deal with it, I take extra care to remove sugar from a diet for a couple days. Also, I found so diabetic socks that are very soft and the bottom of the sock is thick. With them I am more able to walk with out so much pain. Hope this helps. Feeling Your pain!

I have burning on the side of my feet and in my palms. My Dr said it is neuropathy, just like diabetics get except without diabetes. He has me on gabapentin for it and I rarely get it anymore. Hopes this helps

I have severe fibromyalgia and have pain on both hands and feet for over two years. It's chronic pain, just another awful symptom of fibromyalgia. My pain is burning sensation, feet get swollen, walking is difficult. I soak my feet in Epsom salt to alleviate swelling and pain. Compression socks also work to alleviate swelling. Not much relief on hands since I also have trigger finger. I do what I can. Each day is a new start and I keep fighting! Feel better everyone. 🤗
