Have any of you had good experience with physical therapy?
It can help with the right therapist, but I find most people cannot afford it, and if they do have coverage it's only for a brief time, with high co-payments. With Fibromyalgia, I think the fatigue, pain, etc., makes it difficult for some to get to PT, as it is to continue with it. Like most things, it takes commitment. Once in habit of it, I think it's very doable and worthwhile.
When I was working, I regularly saw a chiropractor and it was very beneficial. I cannot do deep massage. Its too painful. Again, insurance co-pays are just too high now with all the national changes these past few years, so I don't do PT, Chiropractor, or Massage. I try to do what I can at home, because I know what to do. Bottom line, it's more beneficial to keep moving. Not doing so makes things worse. Especially if you've been sedentary for awhile, and then are called upon to do anything.
I used to go for months yrs ago but with the athritis and broken back prob discs aswell as other illnesses thy agreed thy were causing me more harm than good I do gentle stretches myself now wen I'm able and also use a heated pool to swim and excersize hope this helps u xx
Physical therapy helps if your insurance covers it. I went for 6 weeks. ...helped when I was going but I think we need a as needed order from doctors. ....that way we can go when we are really sore. I found a great therapist but need the order .
I was working out in a pool. I experienced pain after each time in the pool but, it's something that I think that I should have kept up with.
I went to PTL and it helped with me being able to move my arms higher, but the pain was to much to bare. I was doing my home exercises as told, but it was just not for me. It did help in some areas but the pain to me just made it not worth it.
