Members shared mixed experiences with Lyrica for fibromyalgia pain, with some finding meaningful relief at doses ranging from 150mg to 300mg twice daily when combined with medications like Duloxetine or Cymbalta, while emphasizing that building up dosage slowly is essential. Several members cautioned against Lyrica, describing serious side effects including significant weight gain (commonly 40-45 pounds), mood changes severe enough to require hospitalization, and difficult withdrawal symptoms, with many recommending thorough research before starting. A recurring theme was that fibromyalgia treatment is deeply personal, often requiring a customized combination of medications, and what works for one person may cause harm to another.

My best suggestion is to go online and read all you can about Lyrica...the side affects...the withdrawal symptoms. I took it for a short time and had to get off as I had some life threatening side affects. Do your reasearch and talk to your pharmacist for additional info.....we all have to take respnonsibility for what we take and make ourselves our priority...Hugs

@A MyFibroTeam Member I cannot take Gabapentin as it is a generic form for Neurontin an I cannot take that it gave me a seizure. I have been on Lyrica now for about 2 weeks an I have not noticed any weight gain as of yet.

I gained 45 lbs. It really didn't work. Everyone I know gained a lot of weight.
I like Gabapenten and for pain I take Oxycodone . It's the only one that helps. I've been on it for 10 years.
