Members connected over the shared experience of temporomandibular joint disorder alongside fibromyalgia, describing symptoms like jaw pain, ear pain that mimics infections, ringing in the ears, and difficulty chewing crunchy foods. Several members shared practical insights, including the frustration that TMJ is treated as a dental rather than medical condition, the connection between teeth grinding and jaw damage, and the value of daily facial massage as a self-care strategy. A recurring theme was the overlapping nature of fibromyalgia with other conditions like TMJ, arthritis, and lupus, with many members expressing solidarity over the constant cycle of pain and the challenge of finding effective treatment.

Yes. I have broken teeth. Grinding is called bruxism. I was a dental hygienist and I can tell you that no dentist or Dr has the perfect answer. Learn to do your own daily facial massage.

I have it and my ears hurt almost daily. It's strange how something is always hurting.

I have it and it sucks. Chewing can be difficult and if I try anything like popcorn or granola that's crunchy, my jaw gets so sore that I have to stop eating it.
