Wanting to try yoga or tai chi but not sure which is better? Anyone have any suggestions. I also have hypermobility (double jointed, extremely flexible with joints) so I am caustious about yoga
I've tried both and tolerated tai chi better than yoga. I eventually gave it up when I recognised a definite flare up pattern after each weekly session. The style I tried was Wu style which is apparently quite strong. I'd like to get back to it, but a more gentle form.
I like tai chi for seniors which is a soft gentle movement using chairs for balance some are sitting down and some are standing with a chair to steady myself if off balance. Tai chi is gentle movements and massages muscles and internal organs
Yoga pose child pose.
was told pilates is good.
@A MyFibroTeam Member it is type of martial art very well known for its defense techniques and health benefits. The martial art has evolved over the years into an effective means of alleviating stress and anxiety. It has been considered to be a form of 'meditation in motion' which promotes serenity and inner peace. The movements are concise and focused and at least at the beginning stages slow
What is tai-chi?
