hello, I have troubles with cardiac arrhythmia. Even when I am in rest my heart bounces like crazy and skips beats. It is sometimes related to my painlevel, but also just unpredictable. Does anyone else has cardiac arrhythmia as a symptome of fibromyalgia? I wonder if it is a symptome or something that just is a symptome that has nothing to do with fibromyalgia. I know that is sometimes is related to medication as a side effect. those medication I have reduced and than stopped. It was already… read more

Members strongly encouraged someone experiencing cardiac arrhythmia to seek immediate medical evaluation, emphasizing that heart symptoms should never be assumed to be fibromyalgia-related without proper testing. Several members shared their own experiences with heart palpitations stemming from various causes including thyroid issues, high blood pressure, stress, medication side effects, and serious conditions like SVT, Prinzmetal Angina, and mitral valve regurgitation, with one member describing how ignoring symptoms led to a heart attack in their twenties. A recurring theme was the danger of attributing all symptoms to fibromyalgia, with members urging proactive follow-up and lifestyle modifications like stress management, regular movement, and dietary adjustments to help manage heart-related issues.

From what my Drs have said arythmia can develop at anytime for multitude of reasons and LBp is a common denominator but I'm not a dr. Mine started from something else but now when my BP surges it acts up. Learning to stay calm and positive is hard for me but necessary. I've had to cut people I love out to keep this issue at bay. But keeping them out has brightened my attitude simply because I'm not feeling for them all the time. I don't know the cause of yours and if you are receiving treatment take heed to what the doctors say. They sound like jerks with suggestions like move to the country or find new friends ( most drs are natural sociopaths and will not have bedside manners ) but they aren't lying about what may be better for your health. Hard truths... But keeping an arythmia from acting up can help stave off heart disease.

Anything with the heart should be medically monitored. That's your fuel pump. 💐 Praying for you!

@A MyFibroTeam Member I have heart palpitations not related to fibro. I have Prinzmetal Angina (Coronary Vasospasms), PVC's and mitral valve regurgitation. Heart issues is something you definitely should see a cardiologist for. I ignored mine ended up in cardiac intensive care cause I had a heart attack. I am at high risk for having a stroke with the prinzmetal angina and because I also have high blood pressure so I never ignore it anymore. I was in my 20's when this happened. Hope the best for you and hope they figure out what's causing heart palpitations

@A MyFibroTeam Member - I had to get the paddles when I bled out after an ovary erupted from a cyst and developed an arythmia. It acts up during high stress or if I take high levels of opiates. So after dropping a negligent doctor to get rid of the opiates, I have so many less problems. Fast food actually irritates my heart rate which is low in general (60 waking / 40 sleeping) so any increase is easily felt. If I don't watch my temper as well, which is hard going through menopause and dealing with stupid people sometimes, i have issues. I like my morning walks to help get my blood moving right away, but living in WI I can only do that half the year so I do the hour of power and dance around the living room in my underwear for fun to my jams when no one is around. Hehehe

Don't mess around with your heart. Ask a doctor. Skippy heart rates can be for a number of reasons that don't have anything to do with FMS. My sister has a fast heart rate and for her it was related to blood pressure and anxiety.
I actually went to the doctor for a non fibro check-up. My blood pressure was taken. It hadn't been taken in maybe three years. It was 195 over 110. They took me to the emergency room right away. So I had all of these unusual symptoms that I naturally assumed was part of fibro, and it wasn't, and I could have died, or had a stroke, or something that you don't recover from. So... Never doubt the heart.
