Members shared mixed experiences when asked if they have caring doctors for fibromyalgia, with many reporting it took years of searching and sometimes seeing ten or more providers before finding the right fit. Several members emphasized the importance of interviewing potential doctors about their experience with fibromyalgia and willingness to explore both natural and medication-based treatments, noting that some physicians simply don't want to tackle conditions without clear solutions or don't believe in the diagnosis. A recurring theme was gratitude for those who finally found compassionate providers who listen, respond to calls and emails, and work collaboratively on pain management, while others continue to struggle with rushed appointments and doctors who seem eager to move on to the next patient.

Not realy had an understanding doctor and ive seen lots, having said that I think lady doctors are a little bit more caring, and I find them easier to explain things to more than male docs

I have a great dr. now but it did take a lot of searching to find the dr. who understands me and recommends some wonderful things from natural to meds... I got to the point I was having interviews with dr. to see how they felt about FM and if they had patients they were treating with FM..
I toke me 2 yrs. to find the correct dr... and I'm very happy now.. see some Dr. don't want to involve themselves with something that there is no solution for ...and are not willing to go through all the steps to make you feel better because they feel helpless as well and then you have some dr. that just can't be bothered and don't believe. have very little patients with FM..
good luck in the hunt and don't get discouraged there are good and bad in every field XXOO
