Members shared their most prominent fibromyalgia symptoms in response to a question about what symptom hits hardest, with the overwhelming majority naming chronic widespread pain as their primary struggle, followed closely by debilitating fatigue that many described as feeling like a never-ending flu. Several members described the vicious cycle where pain prevents sleep, lack of sleep worsens pain, and both together fuel brain fog, restless legs, IBS, and emotional struggles like frustration and depression. A recurring theme was the sense of being trapped in a body that won't cooperate, with members finding solace in knowing they're not alone and offering each other encouragement to show themselves grace and keep pushing forward despite the relentless nature of the condition.

Cheryl ain't that the truth ! I like many I'm sure feel like a "prisoner trapped in a prison that I can never escape from "Alcatraz had nothing on fibromyalgia. At least you could look out the windows of Alcatraz and see freedom, there's no freedom from the prison we call "our bodies"! That's what really makes me see RED when I talk about this nasty , vile disease!!!! It tortures you like a pycho toying with a fly , pulling on parts of your body to see how much pain it can inflict ! I guess you can tell a flare ups coming ?

Don't feel self loathing. You have nothing to feel self loathing for. You have an illness. You can't help it. There was nothing you could do to prevent it. There is nothing you can do to stop it. Love yourself for who you are. There are lots of other people out there like us. I think I read that there were about 1 million Americans with fibro. That's just Americans. Can you imagine how people around the world are like us? You have a whole lot of friends here to support you.

Would have to say the Brain fog and sometimes cognition problems and finding words that can go with it at times. Hubby cuts me off constantly because I don't get what I want to say out fast enough. He thinks my long pause means I'm done. He's never caught on and don't seem to be able to.
