A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi guys, need to know. Everyone talks about symptoms , not that as much as withdraw, from cymbalta. Just wondering as with all this entire mess with fibro, everything is different for all, but how soon do u guys get withdraws? Also, has anyone thrown up when in withdraw???💜💜💜

Hello Laura regarding cymbalta withdrawls well here it goes. Every time I tried to cut back I would immediately get severe headache nausea vomiting diarrhea severe muscle aches flu like symptoms so went to doctor just over two weeks ago and he is weaning me off now for different reasons. So I obviously was very nervous about this. Well my experience this time has Ben headache will very mild nausea for first few days and now just mild headaches. I have headaches daily due to fibro so I'm kinda use to that. Here goes his exact directions. My starting dose was 120 mg daily. 60 mg in am 60 mg at night.
Directions...,, first he wrote script for 30 mg tablets bc I only had 60 mg caps..... The day I saw him I had taken my 60 mg cap that morning . He instructed me to take no moe that day.
For ten days I was to take 90 mg then
For 7 days take 60 mg
For 10 days take 30 mg then stop.....
So far I am down to the 30 mg starting today and so far so good. You must wean slowly due to withdrawal symptoms which are severe flu like symptoms. I am seeing it can be accomplished thank God but very slowly. Hope this helps.
I am weaning off bc cymbalta mixed with my other meds can make depression worse and pain perception greater. I was in the worst pain daily for the past year with depression at a very high level.
Today happy to report I am the best. Have been in a year! Praise God for a fine doctor!!!!
Love to you today.😘😘🙂🙂

I have been taking Cymbalta for almost 3 week... 1st 2 weeks was at 30 mg a day now I am taking 60 mg a day. It has decreased my pain, not completely but enough that I can notice it... But I am nauseated, can't eat as much because of it. I am over weight so I don't not see this as a bad thing. I do find if I don't take them the same time everyday I have a headache and feel a bit off until I take the next dose.

I tried Cymbalta, Lyrica, Celebrex, and Savella none helped with pain only terrible side effects. Come to find out Fibromyalgia also comes with chemical intolerance for some. Now focusing on diet and supplements.

Started on 30mg of Cymbalta and after 2wks had to go back to Dr to get the dosage increased. I'm now on 60mg of Cymbalta and seems to be working. Only had nausea side effects for 1wk. Will definitely be staying on Cymbalta.
