Members connected over the frustrating and often embarrassing experience of speech difficulties with fibromyalgia, sharing struggles with forgetting words, stuttering, getting tongue-tied, and mixing up or repeating words in everyday conversations. Several members described how these cognitive challenges extend beyond speech to include trouble with math, spelling, transposing letters and numbers, and forgetting why they walked into a room, with many relying on phone apps and notes to manage daily life. A recurring theme was the relief of discovering they weren't alone in these struggles, the pain of being misunderstood or dismissed by others who don't grasp the invisible burden of fibro fog, and the deep solidarity found in a community that truly understands.

I do that very often. I even have trouble remembering how to spell words and trouble doing math in my head now. It's all a part of the cognitive issues with fibro. We also forget why we walked into a room, forget what we're saying, forget instructions. I have to make notes about everything. Thank goodness for the notepad app on my phone and the calendar. I would be a mess without them.

Yeah, .I get tongue tied, mix up my words or not remember them at all. Thingy and wotsit are my new favourite words, lol.

I wish no one had this problem but it is nice to know I am not alone. I feel like should wear a sign. I was diagnoised a couple of months back. I remembered I had been doing this a few years already. praying for everyone.

Yes!!! I'm so glad other people have this, I wasn't sure why I have trouble speaking and stuttering but it's definitely from the fibro

Math has always been very hard on me. My husband asked me a simple multiplication problem yesterday and I had to get my calculator!!! I understand exactly what you are saying!!
