Members connected over the challenge of managing high blood pressure when allergic or sensitive to most medications, with many sharing that they went through multiple prescriptions before finding one that worked, including options like metoprolol, carvedilol, propranolol, indapamide with doxazosin, and water pills. Several members offered alternative approaches such as turmeric root, basil tea, and asking for capsule forms instead of tablets to avoid reactions to fillers and binders, while one member discovered that treating their sleep apnea with a CPAP machine unexpectedly brought their blood pressure down. A recurring theme was the exhausting trial-and-error process of finding the right treatment, the importance of advocating for yourself with doctors, and the need to monitor side effects closely while staying hopeful that a solution exists.

How do they manage to take your blood pressure? I have a lot of trouble with this and with having blood samples taken as I cannot bear the excruciating pain that comes from having the cuff tightened around my arm....would like to find out how others cope with this please?
